(Pentecost literally means “50”) We are Commanded by God to Celebrate it 50 days after Passover. Leviticus 23:15
And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering; seven sabbaths shall be complete: 16 Even unto the morrow after the seventh sabbath shall ye number fifty days; and ye shall offer a new meat offering unto the LORD. 17. Ye shall bring out of your habitations two wave loaves of two tenth deals: they shall be of fine flour; they shall be baken with leaven; they are the firstfruits unto the LORD. In the New Testament the Holy Spirit descended on the apostles, and Jews coming from the places of their captivities. 

 

What is the significance of this Feast

Exodus 34:22And thou shalt observe the feast of weeks, of the firstfruits of wheat harvest, and the feast of ingathering at the year's end. 23. Thrice in the year shall all your men children appear before the Lord GOD, the God of Israel. 24. For I will cast out the nations before thee, and enlarge thy borders: neither shall any man desire thy land, when thou shalt go up to appear before the LORD thy God thrice in the year. As a part of casting out the nations, We come out of their ideologies and lies. We see this in Acts Chapter 2:1. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. 5. And there were dwelling at Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.

These men came out of the places where Israel were previously held captives Acts 2:8. And how hear we every man in our own tongue, wherein we were born? 9. Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and the dwellers in Mesopotamia, and in Judaea, and Cappadocia, in Pontus, and Asia, 10. Phrygia, and Pamphylia, in Egypt, and in the parts of Libya about Cyrene, and strangers of Rome, Jews and proselytes, 11. Cretes and Arabians, we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.

 

Fulfilling the first of a two fold prophecy. 

Isaiah 11:11 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the Lord shall set his hand again the second time to recover the remnant of his people, which shall be left, from Assyria, and from Egypt, and from Pathros, and from Cush, and from Elam, and from Shinar, and from Hamath, and from the islands of the sea. 12. And he shall set up an ensign for the nations, and shall assemble the outcasts of Israel, and gather together the dispersed of Judah from the four corners of the earth.

Coming out of the world 

 

For the repenting Israelites Pentecost "firstfruits" Should mean much more than just a celebration, It represents bringing our best spirit to God as Christ our Lord showed us. John told the Pharisees and Sadducees in Matthew 3:8 Bring forth therefore fruits meet for repentance: The Pharisees and Sadducees spoke of the commandments but did not display the fruits in spirit and truth. Matthew 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,  2.Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat: 3. All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. The Fruits of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23. Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 

 

If we call ourselves followers of Christ and his teachings that's means we would keep God's Commandments to the best of our abilities and in doing so the promises and rewards would be given one of those rewards is to be raised grow from the earth and become a new creature James 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures. Which the greatest reward is life enternal to be risen with him 1Co 15:20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. We must not be defiled with man's ideologies in politics, Religion and Customs Rev 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. The Woman represents doctrines to be a Virgin is to be a follower of Christ with the Fruits to show 2 cor 11:2 For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.

2 Timothy 2:6. The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.
